TWU Security is warning the public about a phone scam where callers pose as Amazon reps, claiming your account’s been hacked.
The Texarkana Arkansas Police Department is warning the public about a phone scam where callers pose as Amazon reps, claiming your account’s been hacked. You're then transferred to a fake government agent, who says your bank account is at risk and urges you to withdraw your money and hand it over to a courier for “safekeeping.” Scammers may also claim your phone or computer is hacked and tell you not to speak to anyone. Authorities say it’s all fake — and if you hand over money, it’s gone for good.
