A fight at an apartment complex last Thursday led to a 16-year-old girl facing serious charges. Police say a 15-year-old boy tried to break up the fight but was stabbed in the back and neck with a pocketknife. Witnesses and the victim identified the girl as the attacker.
She was arrested nearby and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Officers also found marijuana in her pocket, adding a Possession charge. She was taken to juvenile detention.
Police also arrested her 31-year-old mother, who was involved in the fight and had an outstanding felony probation warrant. She’s now in the Bi-State Jail.
The boy was treated at the scene, and his injuries are not life-threatening.
