A 15-year-old boy and a 34-year-old man drowned Saturday in an apparent accident at Wright Patman Lake.

A 15-year-old boy and a 34-year-old man drowned Saturday in an apparent accident at Wright Patman Lake.

Jayden Marshall was swimming near the North Shore area with a group of family and friends when he began struggling in the water and called for help, according to Bowie County Sheriff Jeff Neal.

Family friend Victor Lawson, 34, attempted to rescue Jayden but also went under. Both were later recovered from the water and pronounced dead.

The incident remains under investigation.
