Man Pleads Not Guilty in Maud Family Dollar Murder Case

A man charged with capital murder in the March shooting death of a Family Dollar clerk in Maud, Texas, pleaded not guilty Monday in a Texarkana courtroom.

A man charged with capital murder in the March shooting death of a Family Dollar clerk in Maud, Texas, pleaded not guilty Monday in a Texarkana courtroom.

Keshawn Deiron Wickware, 27, appeared before 5th District Judge Bill Miller at the Bi-State Justice Building. His court-appointed attorney, Jeff Harrelson, entered the not guilty plea on his behalf.

Wickware is accused of fatally shooting 47-year-old Denyle Pierce on March 4. A pretrial hearing is scheduled for July. If convicted, Wickware could face the death penalty or life in prison without parole. He remains in the Bowie County jail.
