Food banks are bracing for an increase in veterans and seniors needing assistance as a result of cuts in SNAP benefits mandated by the administration’s “One Big Beautiful Bill”. The 26 mainly rural counties served by the East Texas Food Bank are especially vulnerable and the food bank is exploring partnerships with healthcare providers as one way to help ensure that food needs will be met.
